PARALIMNI: "Tonight in Tsitsani" with Mikros Rebetes

tsitsanis Mikri Rebetes, Nea Famagusta

Mikri Rebetes reopens the tavern and invites us to an evening dedicated to the great Vassilis Tsitsanis. Mikri Rebetes, Dimitris Mesimeris, Michalis Hatzimichael, the Dance Club "Zorbas", and a large group of great musicians, collaborate on stage to sing and dance to the magical poems of Vassilis Tsitsanis, thus honoring the great lyricist and master of the bouzouki and most important creator of Greek folk music.

Tsitsanis was the man who took folk song out of the margins, where its anti-social and oriental elements had included it, in order to integrate it into the new social reality of post-war Greece. He introduced a new style of playing and singing with the Europeanization / combination of scales, harmonies with second and third voices, enriched orchestration and innovations in the poetic structure, where for the first time the folk song moved away from the traditional forms of the official role of the couplet.

It is important that in the show, the sound will be natural, ie not all musical instruments will be processed. Authentic performances, and young performers, who loved, sang and "bent" over the work of Tsitsanis.

"Tonight in Tsitsanis" for a unique show, the net proceeds of which will be given for a good cause.

The sequel on stage tonight Monday 11 November 2019 at 20:00 at the Private School Xenion in Paralimni.
