Xenia Pittatzi Zouvani passed away at the age of 86. Her daughter, Katelitsa Zouvani Fylaktou, with her obvious emotion, wrote the following post on her personal account:

"Our beloved mother,

How to put into words our pain and sorrow…

How can we say goodbye to you?

You never wanted to see us sad, bitter…

You didn't make it, even though you've been preparing us for a few years.

Every day we saw you sinking deeper and deeper into the Alzheimer's void. However, no matter how much your illness absorbed all your strength, you were close to us, we hugged you, we talked to you.

Even if you didn't communicate, we called you 'mom' and we felt your affection and love.

We never heard you say goodbye, you said you were in pain νες You survived your illness with as much stoicism and patience and with as much youthful energy as your whole life course was Levantine.

You have gone through difficult years like most of your generation. Born in 1933, daughter of Avramis and Myrophoras Pittatzis, you married Georgios A. Zouvanis, with whom you lived together for 70 years. Biopali and struggles, sufferings of life, without comforts. You worked hard on your favorite pergolas, the Pernera and the Gorge.

With the invasion of '74, you left, you told us, the first fruits, the oranges and the grapefruits to the Turkish conquerors. You cried and ached with all of Cyprus.

I remember that you didn't want to buy oranges and you cried every time for your undefeated homeland.

You stood by our father worthy, active, dynamic, with self-denial. You were the rock we all touched. The sun and the coolness of our lives. The calm in our storms. The light in our darkness. You were a source of boundless love for your 4 children, your 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Your advice was gold that flows for a lifetime.

You taught us a mother about the values of life, the ones that adorn and enlighten the right people.

And we thank you for that. Prayer was a daily routine for you. Saint Cornelius was your protector, the Saint who was always by your side, you always told us. Memories unfold and speak of a compassionate and charitable mass. You always had something to give from your backwardness to your fellow man in need.

Your only complaint from life was that you were deprived, in the then difficult years, of elementary education and you had great misery. But you were my teacher, a great teacher of life, socially very educated and distinguished for that. Those who knew you have to talk about you !!

You loved and admired education and recognized its timeless values. You had a desire to educate your children and grandchildren, you did it and more!

In 2000, with the establishment of the school, we had to decide on its name. All of us, my husband, my children, my brothers Markos, Myroulla and Antonis with their families and of course my father unanimously agreed and gave your name to our school, Xenion, because you really deserve it.

Your love and wishes I am sure will accompany Xenion and all of us forever.
My dear mom, you left us for a bright and true world. On the way you will meet your loved ones, your parents and Marco, your 23-year-old chanting brother who extinguished with his death the joy from the lips of your family and your nephew the beloved Mamos the singer τον

How to say goodbye…

To you, who gave us breath from your breath…

That you taught us to stand up and look at life in the face…

Where did you show us what family, kindness, ethos and principles mean?

You taught us what politeness, altruism, sacrifice, hard work, organization, home, household means.

We thank God for blessing us to have you as our mother. You, a fighter for life, whose heart has always been full of love, your lips always full of wishes…

For everything you have given us, for everything you have taught us, for the tender hugs, the sweet feelings, the laughter and the tears, the beautiful moments, we thank you, dear mother.

Good luck to me, Good Heaven. I am sure that our Heavenly Father has ranked you among His angels, you who were for us the guardian angel on earth. Let the soil that covers you be light.

I love you forever. ”
