The cooperation of the Police and citizens led to the identification of the perpetrators and, by extension, to the investigation of two cases involving church burglary, workshop burglary, theft and malicious damage committed between the dates 18-20/1/23 at the Archangel Michael chapel in Paralimni and in a workshop near the church.
Specifically, on 19/1/23 it was reported to the TAE of Famagusta by the Vicar of the church of Archangel Michael in Paralimni that between the dates 18-19/1/23 unknown persons broke into the church and stole a sum of money from the cash register and then vandalized the interior in the church breaking various ecclesiastical utensils, they set fire to a garment inside the sanctuary of the church, emptied the contents of a fire extinguisher inside the church while writing abusive slogans on the walls of the sanctuary.
On 20/1/23, a 36-year-old owner of a workshop next to the chapel of Archangel Michael reported to the TAE Famagusta that unknown persons broke into his workshop and stole items of little value.
On 20/1/23, as part of the evaluation of information from citizens, testimony was secured against two minors aged 12 who were called to the offices of the TAE Famagusta where, in the presence of their guardians, they admitted to the commission of the offences.
Due to her young age, all actions provided by the Children in Conflict with the Law Act of 2021 will be followed.
