Private and public sector development projects worth almost 200.000.000 have recently been completed, are in progress or are expected to start according to the table presented today by Famagusta.News. Most of them concern road projects, improvements in school units, construction of provincial departments but also large-scale private projects such as the long-awaited project of Paralimni marina.
A total of € 20.350.000 was allocated or is available, according to information from the Government, for projects mainly related to the upgrade of the road network in Kappari and 1st of April Avenue, the first phase of the central square in Paralimni, the creation of parking lots and the third phase of the construction of the coastal sidewalk in Protaras.
Undoubtedly the most long-awaited project in the Municipality of Paralimni is none other than the marina of Paralimni. The project has already started after the construction permits have been issued by the Government while all the environmental studies have been completed and the construction works are expected to start soon. The play appeared before the President of the Republic last January while it is expected to contribute positively to the region mainly because of 250 new jobs to be created but also because of the upgrade that will be observed in the area of Pernera in Protaras and specifically near the fishing shelter of Agios Nikolaos.
The Paralimni Marina will have 300 berths with all the necessary support services, reception area for boat owners and their crews, fuel, special boat equipment stores and exclusive police, customs and foreigners and immigration service. In terms of residential facilities, the design provides for 123 apartments and 3 villas and a beach park. Owners and the public will be able to enjoy services from shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
