The 7th Conference "For Life... Parents" of the Paralimni Youth is organized again this year on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 15:30 until 19:00 at the Paralimni Town Hall.
For the first time this year, the conference also includes an experiential workshop on children's self-confidence and self-esteem, which is designed specifically to offer practical solutions and help parents and teachers effectively respond to modern challenges.
Detailed program and topics of the conference:
1st Unit: 16:15 – 17:15
- "How to increase my child's intelligence. Practical examples.”
- Speaker: Pantelis Makris, Special Education Consultant and Technology Supporter
- A presentation to inform the participants of simple daily practices and approaches that can be used by parents or even teachers to improve children's intelligence, mainly in Language and Logical Mathematical thinking.
- "Sugar and child: the sweet threat to my child's health":
- Speaker: Dr. Stavri Chrysostomou, Assistant Professor of Clinical Dietetics.
- The purpose of the lecture is to present the hidden sources of sugar in the diet and its harmful effects on both the physical and psychosomatic health of children. Also, parents will be informed about the proposed recommendations for sugar consumption as well as the alternative practices they can use in order to ensure a healthy but also sufficiently acceptable diet for their child.

2st Unit: 17:30 – 18:00
- "Are our children happy today?"
- Speakers: Anastasia Georgiou and Maria Prastiti, School / Educational Psychologists
- A question that concerns most parents! The purpose of the presentation is to present the factors that affect children's happiness in modern society and to gain an understanding of the needs and challenges that children and parents face. Is it the job of parents to make their children happy? Reference to specific practices and strategies that can strengthen the family.

Experiential Workshop: 18:15 – 19:00
- Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence: The Ingredients of Happy and Successful Children.
