THE FESTIVAL OF SAINT GEORGE OF THE SEED WAS CELEBRATED.
With every formality, Paralimni honors and celebrates the memory of the patron saint and protector of the Saint, the Great Martyr George the Trophy Bearer, after whom the Metropolitan Church in the center of the city is honored.
On the afternoon of Monday, November 2, 2020, the Great Festive Hierarchical Vespers were celebrated by the local Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, Mr. Vassilios, supported by the first archimandrite Archimandrite Augustinos representatives of the security forces and a crowd of people.
This was followed by a procession of the holy image of the Great Martyr and a fragment of a holy relic in the main streets of Paralimni.
On the day of the feast, a Festive Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was performed.
Before his dismissal, Panierotatos wished the celebrants and all the inhabitants of the city, happy birthday on the occasion of the feast of the Patron Saint and Patron Saint of Paralimni.
He wished, since today's holiday is associated with saying "St. George of the Seed", with the embassies of the Great Martyr, to stop the ongoing drought that afflicts our country.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia, performed the annual Memorial Service of the blessed Metropolitan of Andrianoupolis, Damascus, whom he served as Protosyggelos of the Swiss Diocese.
This was followed by the procession of the holy icon and the fragment of the holy relic, around the temple.
