With an afternoon on the crowded beaches of Ayia Napa and Protaras, the Queen's Baton Relay continued its Cypriot tour, in important locations throughout Cyprus. Through her long trip to our island, the history, culture and sports of Cyprus were presented in the Commonwealth. It was preceded by its passage through Paphos, Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca.
The QBR, which contains the message of Queen Elizabeth II announcing the 22nd Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in the summer of 2022, has as its first destination from a total of 72 countries and regions of the world Cyprus.
The baton passed to Paralimni and the famous beach of Konnos. There she was welcomed by the leading Cypriot track and field athlete Eleni Artymata in the presence of the President of KOE and President of KEKA Georgios Chrysostomou and the Mayor of Paralimni Theodoros Pyrillis.
Last stop for QBR is the beach of FIG Tree, where the athletes of the National Beach Volley team Antonis Liotatis and Pampos Zorpis and the former javelin champion Alexandra Tsissiou were found. With them, in addition to Messrs. G. Chrysostomou and Th.
