The final phase of the UEFA U2021 European Children's Football Championship will be held in Paralimni in May 17.
A written statement from the Municipality of Paralimni states that “today a meeting was held at the City Hall between the Mayor Theodoros Pyrillis and the President of the KOP George Koumas. The subject of the meeting was the cooperation of the Municipality of Paralimni with the KOP for the organization of the final phase of the European Children's Football Championship UEFA U17 that will take place in Cyprus from 6 to 22 May 2021 ”.
It is added that “in the final phase of EURO U17, 16 national teams will participate, including the National Team of Cyprus. The Municipality of Paralimni will provide the "TASOS MARKOU" stadium and the auxiliary stadiums for holding games and trainings, while it will also be the host of the opening ceremony of the event ".
The Mayor of Paralimni “congratulated George Koumas for the initiative of the KOP to undertake such an important event that will promote Cyprus. He also thanked the President of the KOP for the opportunity given to the Municipality of Paralimni to host an organization of high standards of UEFA level ".
For his part, the President of the KOP "thanked for the cooperation and support of the Municipality of Paralimni in the relevant event and expressed confidence in its success."
It is noted that the meeting was also attended by the General Director of KOP Anthoulis Mylonas, the Director of International Relations Adonis Prokopiou and the person in charge of the organization of EURO U17 Stelios Potamitis.
