Today, the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni imposed a 60-day prison sentence on a 46-year-old foreigner from Romania for the offenses of drunkenness, disturbance, disturbing the peace, public insult, illegal entry, assaulting a police officer and resisting lawful arrest.

Specifically, on 16/2/23 shortly before midnight, a complaint was made to the Paralimni Police Station by a 45-year-old resident of Paralimni that the 46-year-old foreigner, whom he hosted for the night, being intoxicated, was causing concern and was behaving disorderly, causing him fear, resulting in invites him to leave his home, with the 46-year-old not cooperating and continuing to stay illegally in his home.

Members of the Paralimni Police Station arrived on the scene and I called the 46-year-old to leave the 45-year-old's house.

The 46-year-old, in sight of the policemen, left the 45-year-old's house and, being in a public place, began to curse the policemen, causing concern and disturbing the peace.

The defendant was arrested for the open offenses and during the arrest assaulted and pushed the member of the police to thwart his arrest.

The 46-year-old was taken into custody and upon completion of the case he was brought before the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni which sentenced him to 60 days in prison.
