The arrest of a 54-year-old foreign resident of Paralimni yesterday shortly after 8 pm was carried out by members of the Famagusta Traffic Police in Paralimni.

Specifically, at the time in question, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police, while conducting a traffic control on Protaras Avenue in Paralimni, found that a vehicle was being driven at an excessive speed, i.e. 116 kilometers per hour instead of 50 kilometers per hour.

The vehicle was stopped and a check carried out revealed that it was being driven by a 54-year-old foreign resident of Paralimni who was driving without a driver's license and was not wearing a seat belt.

A preliminary alcohol test followed and it was found that the 54-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol with a final reading of 38µg% ​​instead of 22µg%.

The 54-year-old was arrested for committing self-inflicted offenses and was taken to the Paralimni Police Station for further examination.

The 54-year-old is expected to be brought before the District Court of Famagusta in Paralimni on 28/2/23 for immediate registration of the case.
