On Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the Events Hall of the Paralimni - Deryneia Municipal Hall, the presentation of the new book by journalist Yannis Kareklas, entitled "Cyprus: Path to the Cliff (1830–1974)", took place.

The event was co-organized by the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta, the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the Municipality of Ayia Napa. Greetings were delivered by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Mr. George Nikolettos, the Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Christos Zannetou, the President of the Famagusta Regional Council Mr. Yiannis Karousos, the Protopresbyter Iraklidios Xiouros on behalf of the Pan-Holy Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Mr. Vasilios, as well as the Minister of the Interior Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou.

This was followed by a speech by the author Yannis Kareklas, who referred to the content and importance of his work, while the event was coordinated by Mr. Marinos Pavlikkas, Head of the Cultural Service of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.

Yannis Kareklas' new book is a work of historical documentation and political reflection, which illuminates critical periods in modern Cypriot history and contributes substantially to the public debate around the national question.
