Heavy rainfall hit areas of the free province of Famagusta this morning, resulting in roads becoming rivers in Paralimni.
Videos shared by citizens on the "CYPRUS LOVERS" page show the result of heavy rainfall in Paralimni, resulting in rivers filling up and causing problems on the road network.

According to the Meteorological Service today, Christmas Day, the weather will be partly cloudy, while mainly at noon and early in the afternoon, local rains and isolated storms are expected. In a storm, hail may also fall, while on the higher peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet is expected. The winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast and in the afternoon west northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. The temperature will rise to 19 degrees inland, around 20 on the coast and 12 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy. Winds will blow mainly northwesterly, weak and occasionally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will be slightly rough. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees inland, around 11 on the coast and to 3 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.
