The Permanent Criminal Court, which convened in Famagusta, sentenced a 39-year-old Turk, a former player of a well-known TV game, to ten years in prison for the rape of a 35-year-old woman of African origin.
The 39-year-old, who is in Cyprus with the status of political asylum seeker, was found guilty of rape, deprivation of liberty for the purpose of sexual abuse and threat of violence.
The offenses were committed last April in Paralimni.
