The opening of the renovated Playground in Agios Georgios Square in Paralimni took place on the morning of Sunday, December 1, 2024. The inauguration was performed by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia in the presence of the Member of Parliament of Famagusta, Mr. Linos Papagiannis, the Deputy Mayor of Paralimni and members of the Municipal Council. It was preceded by a consecration performed by the Protosygello of the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta, Archimandrite etc. Augustinos Kkaras.
During his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia mentioned that this is an important milestone for the Municipality as the Municipal Authority continues to invest in the quality of life of children and their families. He said that the new playground, equipped with brand new toys and a modern safety floor, is a model place of fun, safety and creativity designed to offer children the opportunity to enjoy their play in an environment that ensures safety and their entertainment.
He also emphasized that the Municipality is proceeding with planning to create corresponding spaces in all municipal apartments, highlighting the importance of equal access to modern infrastructure for all. Beyond entertaining the children, the goal is, as Mr. Nicolettos, for the Municipal Council to contribute to the upgrading of the standard of living of all citizens, creating an environment that encourages creativity, cooperation and quality of life. He pointed out, at the same time, that today's renovation of the playground is part of a larger vision for the Municipality, a vision that promotes sustainability, social cohesion and development.
During the event, a Live Link was held by Politia FM with radio producers Costas Herodotou, Koula Kyriakou and Michalis Kourtis, while the children had the opportunity to have fun with an interactive fairy tale presentation, facepainting, children's constructions and drawings, balloon constructions, and a juggling program as well as with the brand new toys of the modern playground of Agios Georgios Square.
