Paralimni: Seminar on the Creation of a Coordinating Group for Safe Play

The purpose of the Seminar is the training and coordination of citizens of the Municipality of Paralimni in issues related to Safe Gaming. The Seminar will discuss operational specifications for the creation of a coordination group and analysis of the differences between pathological and recreational gambling.

With the central message "A game needs limits", the National Betting Authority (EAS) is organizing the Safe Game Week for the fifth consecutive year, from 3 to 9 October 2022.

The aim of Safe Gambling Week is to inform players and the wider public about safe betting and gambling. Through a series of actions, EAS aims both to inform and raise awareness of society for safe participation in betting and games of chance, as well as to involve and mobilize all involved parties to create a protective environment that prevents problematic behaviors.

The purpose of the Seminar is the training and coordination of members of the Municipality of Paralimni in issues related to Safe Gaming. The Seminar will discuss operational specifications for the creation of a coordination group and analysis of the differences between pathological and recreational gambling. In addition, the causes of problematic behaviors and ways of prevention will be discussed. Finally, the members of the Municipality will be invited to participate in the creation of a coordinating group for safe play within the community.

The coordinator of the event is the Center for Research and Education in Social Empowerment and Transformation (RESET). RESET specializes in the method of open dialogue for the development of critical thinking, the empowerment of vulnerable groups in order to co-create policy adaptation proposals and establish good practices.
