A 34-year-old driver caused a car accident in Paralimni yesterday, having 120 μg of alcohol in his blood instead of 9 μg.
According to the Police, around five yesterday afternoon, while a 34-year-old resident of Famagusta province, was driving his car on Protaras Avenue in Paralimni, under conditions investigated by the Police, he collided with a car driven by a 33-year-old resident of Famagusta province.
The collision caused material damage to both cars without injuring the two drivers.
During a breathalyzer test performed on the 34-year-old, the initial reading was 135μg instead of 9 and the final reading was 120μg instead of 9 which is the legal limit. The 34-year-old also drove his car with a student driver's license.
The 34-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.
The case is being investigated by the Paralimni Police Station.
