The memorials of the fourteen people from Paralimni, who lost their lives in the air tragedy of "Helios", in August 2005, took place this morning in an atmosphere of intense emotion.
The memorial prayer was chanted at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios in Paralimni, officiated by Metropolitan Tamasos and Orini Isaias.
The government was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Vassilis Palmas.
Afterwards, a trisagion was performed on the graves of the victims, headed by Archimandrite Augustinos Kkaras.
Also present was the Minister of Education, Costas Hambiaouris, who was at the Paralimni Cemetery for the memorial prayer in memory of the cowardly murdered by the Turks, Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomos.
Wreaths were laid by the families of the victims, party representatives, the Mayor of Paralimni and members of organized groups.
The relatives of the victims, in their statements, stated that every year the pain becomes deeper and deeper, while they stressed that they seek justification for their loved ones.
