PARALIMNI: Three 16-year-old girls were thrown from an open trunk of a car – one seriously

According to information, there are frequent complaints to the Police that in the area where the traffic accident occurred, young people gather at night and engage in "fights", performing various dangerous demonstrations with their vehicles.

A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday in "Tasos Markou" in Paralimni, involving minors.

The three minors were sitting in the trunk and had it open. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it was thrown. All three were injured, with one 16-year-old in serious condition.

The decision by them and their friends to make a reckless move with their vehicle resulted in a serious injury to a 16-year-old girl and minor injuries to the other two minors.

The accident happened around 11 pm in the parking lot of the "Tasos Markou" stadium. The underage driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded to the side and hit a metal pole. As a result, the three 16-year-old girls were hurled, injured and taken to Famagusta hospital. One of them suffered a skull fracture and an epidural hematoma, with the doctors on duty deeming it necessary to transfer her to the Nicosia General Hospital, where she is being treated in the Neurosurgery Department. Her health condition is considered serious but stable.

The serious traffic accident is being investigated by the Paralimni Police Station and the Famagusta Traffic Department.
