The presentation event of the book by Paralimnitis resident George Flouris, "Cypriot Dialectical Poetry", took place on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Cyprus House in Athens.
The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, welcomed the event and highlighted the value of George Flouris' work in intellectual creation as well as in the promotion and preservation of intangible cultural heritage.
Greetings were also delivered by Mr. Diomedes Nikitas, President of the House of Cyprus on behalf of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Stavros Avgoustides, the President of the Federation of Cypriot Organizations in Greece, Mr. Giorgos Syllouris, the former Rector of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Theodoros Fortsakis, the Member of the Pancyprian Club of Popular Poets, Mr. Andronikos Katsiantonis, the Philologist - Writer, Ms. Virginia Grigoriadou and the Publisher, Mr. Elias Epifaniou.
A speech was delivered by Professor Emeritus of Ancient Greek Philology (with an emphasis on Ancient Cypriot Literature) of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Andreas Voskos, while a speech by Diplomat and Historian Mr. Giorgos Georgis was screened.
The event concluded with a rebuttal by the author Mr. George Flouris.
