The presentation of the work and photographic exhibition by Nikolas Loukas entitled "Textures of Paralimni" took place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Orchard of St. George in Paralimni, as part of the 2nd Festival of Traditional Culture "Voices and Memories".
The project "Fabrics of Paralimni" is a first attempt to collect and record clothing preserved in Paralimni. Clothes, shoes, jewelry and other elements of clothing emerged as important documents of local heritage, which weave bonds and relationships through time. Clothing and faces were captured by the lens of Nikolas Loukas and presented in a photographic exhibition, which is the main axis of the project.
The exhibition is hosted at Mitropoleos Square in Paralimni, where it will remain open to the public. The presentation was followed by a musical program by the vocal ensemble “Kalesma”, with musicians Paris Paraschos, Anastasia Zakynthinou, Friederiki Tombazou, Savva Lagou, Katerina Paraschos and Charalambos Pantelis.
The creative concept and research of the project were developed by the Cultural Academy "Agios Epiphanios", while the documentation was carried out by the Cultural Workshop "Para ti Limni". The presentation took place within the framework of the 2nd Festival of Traditional Culture "Voices and Memories" March - April 2026, which is co-organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the Cultural Academy "Agios Epiphanios" and is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
