The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia participated in the presentation event of the sculpture by the renowned Cypriot artist Philippos Giapanis "The Journey of Cyprus through the Ages", which took place on Tuesday, June 9, in Salamina, Attica. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Greece, the Municipality of Salamina and the Salamina Naval Station.

In its greeting, the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia underlined the special symbolism of the event, which connects the place from where Teukros began his historical journey with Salamis, Cyprus, which he himself founded, highlighting the timeless ties between Attica and the province of Famagusta.

Particular mention was made of ancient Lefkolla, in Protaras, where the sculpture will be placed after its arrival in Cyprus. From this point, overlooking occupied Famagusta and Salamis, the work will function as a symbol of memory, historical continuity and hope, reminding that the history, cultural heritage and identity of the place remain alive.

The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia expressed its special honor and pride in hosting this emblematic work, which captures the timeless course of Hellenism and conveys a strong message of vindication, return and freedom.

Hosting the sculpture in Lefkolla is expected to be a point of reference for residents and visitors, strengthening the connection between the past and the present and keeping alive the collective memory and the expectation for a free future.
