With splendor and national pride, the events celebrating the National Anniversary of the national liberation struggle of EOKA 1955-59 were held in Paralimni on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
The events began in the early morning hours with the raising of the Flag at the Municipal Hall in the presence of the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, in which the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia "Armonia" participated.
A Solemn Doxology followed at the Metropolitan Church of Saint George, officiated by His Holiness Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Vasilios.
The Government was represented by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou, who delivered the day's solemn address.
After the Doxology, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Heroes' Monument.
Celebrations and solemn eulogies for the anniversary of the start of the national liberation struggle of EOKA were also held in the other municipal districts of the Municipality.
