The audience was captivated by the concert of the Famagusta Traditional Music Orchestra "Like a Prayer", with the participation of Maria Anamaterou and Socrates Sinopoulos.
At the packed “Xenion” Amphitheater in Paralimni, the Famagusta Traditional Music Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Michalis Kouloumis, presented a full and high-level musical program with Byzantine hymns of Holy Week and the Resurrection, with the participation of the Greek performer Maria Anamaterou, as well as the great lyre player, internationally renowned musician and composer Socrates Sinopoulos. The Byzantine Choir “Tropaiophoros” with choirmaster Christos Ioannou also participated in the concert.
The event was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, while greetings were also delivered by the Deputy Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Kleanthis Koutsoftas, on behalf of the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, and the Director of the "Agios Epiphanios" Cultural Academy, Dr. Christina Kakkoura.
The concert was part of the 2nd Traditional Culture Festival "Voices and Memories", which is organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia in collaboration with the "Agios Epiphanios" Cultural Academy from March 28 to April 26, 2026 and is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
