The 1st Choral Festival of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the "Melizona" Choir of the Municipal District of Paralimni, was held with great success on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Amphitheater of Xenion High School in Paralimni.
The "Melodia" Vocal Ensemble of the Limassol Cultural Group, the Chorus of the Deryneia Municipal District, the "Aoidon Phones" Youth Choir of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, the Friends of the Four-Voice Choir of the Municipality of Xanthi and the "Melizona" Choir of the Municipal District of Paralimni participated in the Festival, offering the audience a unique musical encounter dedicated to choral art, collaboration and the promotion of cultural creation.
The event was held under the auspices of the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, and constituted a new cultural institution for the Municipality, highlighting the power of music to unite people, communities and places through a shared love for art and culture.
As the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia stated, the 1st Choral Festival is an important initiative that honors the long tradition of the place in musical creation and opens new avenues of cultural cooperation. He warmly congratulated the “Melizona” Choir of the Municipal District of Paralimni, all the choirs that participated and those who worked for the successful organization, emphasizing that the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia will continue to support actions that upgrade cultural life, strengthen extroversion and promote the creative identity of the region.
