The Famagusta District Chess Tournament was held at the Paralimni - Deryneia Town Hall last Sunday, September 14, 2025, which was organized by the Famagusta Chess Club and placed under the auspices of the Paralimni - Deryneia Municipality.
During the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, delivered a speech, emphasizing that chess is a sport that cultivates strategic thinking, discipline and creativity, values that are essential for our life and society. At the same time, he warmly congratulated the Famagusta Chess Club for its commendable initiative and its continuous contribution to the development and dissemination of chess in the region.
