An important award was given at Vrisi C 'beach of the Municipality of Paralimni during 17th Cyprus Eating Awards for 2021 held on the evening of Tuesday 17 May 2022 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol.
Specifically, the Municipality of Paralimni received an Honorary Commendation in a new special category that was included in the annual institution of awards held for the 17th year by the DIAS Publishing House and Check In Cyprus, entitled "Accessible beach for people with mobility disabilities".
Η Vrisi C 'beach, located on the coastal front of Protaras, is one of the two beaches in all of Cyprus, which meet all the standards of accessibility for people with mobility disabilities. This unique beach features the innovative Seatrack autonomous marine access system as well as the special amphibious wheelchair, known as the Floating Wheelchair, which is suitable for beach movement and access to the sea, as it floats. An example beach to imitate and raise awareness of all institutions, so that other beaches in Cyprus provide these facilities to people with mobility disabilities.
Hence this year, Best Beach Accessibility for people with mobility disabilities at the Cyprus Eating Awards 2021 is Vrisi C 'Beach in Protaras.
The award was received by the Mayor of Paralimni Theodoros Pyrillis who made special mention to the President of the Cyprus Paraplegics Organization which led the Interreg Greece-Cyprus program "Hermes 2", with the beneficiary the Municipality of Paralimni and the Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis for installation of special accessibility infrastructure on 11 beaches of the Municipality of Paralimni (Agia Triada , Armyropigado, Vrisi A ', Vrisi B', Vrisi C ', Vrysoudia, Vyzakia, Kappari, Fig Tree Bay, Louma and Pernera) as well as 7 beaches of the Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis (Agathopes, Azolimnos, Vari, Voulgari, Gaili , Comet).
