On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia held the unveiling ceremony of the sculpture "The Naval Battle of Lefkolla".
The event is part of the thematic section of events entitled "Music Meets Sculpture", which includes four musical evenings at four new sculptures in Protaras.
The ceremony took place at Lefkolla Square, in Protaras, at the point where the homonymous sculpture, the work of the distinguished sculptor Philippos Giapanis, was placed. The Mayor, Mr. George Nikolettos, delivered a speech, referring to the Municipality's systematic efforts to promote the area as a destination with a strong cultural, historical and mythological element, which are also key features of its identity.
Sculptor Philippos Giapanis presented the concept of the project and thanked the Municipality for the close and constructive cooperation.
The artistic program was presented by Giorgos Grigoriou ("Chinese") and Panagiotis Tsappis.
