With the completion of the third phase of the pedestrian walkway and the launching of the fourth and fifth phases, the way was opened for the formation of a single coastal front, beyond 15 kilometers, he noted, while at the same time, he added, the necessary conditions were created for the further exploitation of the tourism potential , but also of the wider area.
Already, through the aesthetic design of the surrounding area, the provision of the necessary service infrastructure, the easy access to public beaches and recreational areas, the organization of events, the pedestrian street gathers a large number of local and foreign visitors, said President Anastasiadis. "It really is a pride and a point of reference of the region that cannot be found in any other city", he noted.
In addition to the obvious upgrade of the tourism product, it is expected to attract new investments, increase revenues from traditional and new markets of high-income visitors, lengthen the tourist season and create new jobs, he said, while noting that with a series of other projects, the economic and social development of the Municipality and more broadly of the province of Famagusta is achieved.
According to President Anastasiades, in total the projects of the last decade that have been completed or are in the process of implementation or have been launched in the Municipality of Paralimni, amount to more than 55 million euros. Among them are the construction of the Famagusta District Court, amounting to more than 9 million euros, the construction of the Famagusta Police Department in Paralimni, amounting to 6,5 million euros, the upgrading and expansion of school buildings and sports facilities, amounting to more than 5 million euros.
In addition, he stated that the projects include the construction of a section of "1st of April" avenue, amounting to more than 2 million euros, while projects with a total cost of €13,39 million are under construction for the construction of the road network and the bicycle path in the "Kappari" area. and the upgrade of the Paralimni High School.
In addition, the President of the Republic added that the region will also benefit from the creation of the Paralimni Marina and the Ayia Napa Marina on state land, the improvement projects in the water network in the Kokkinokremmo area, with a total cost of 21,5 million euros, the construction of a Treatment Plant Achnas Wastewater in the amount of 30,5 million euros and the enrichment of two artificial reefs in Paralimni and Ayia Napa.
"It is also worth noting that in the municipalities and communities of the province of Famagusta, since 2015 when the state became able to spend on investments and infrastructure projects, they have been implemented or are being implemented with the decisive contribution of the Government, either through the allocation of national funds or through the promotion of a series of projects for co-financing from European funds, 86 projects with a total cost of 213 million euros", he said, noting that the cooperation with the Mayor and the Municipal Council of both Paralimni and the other municipalities in the region, allowed the implementation of public utility projects that are considered necessary to improve the quality of life of the residents of the area.
"In this context you must take our support for granted, for the rest of the term, and I believe that I will soon have possible proposals regarding the development of the area, so that we can see what can be announced to be a commitment for the next generation and a continuation of the project we started together", President Anastasiades concluded.

The most important thing is that in combination with a series of other projects that we have either implemented or launched for the Municipality of Paralimni and the other municipalities in the free areas, the economic and social development of the Municipality and more broadly of the province of Famagusta is achieved.
In total, the projects of the last decade that have been completed or are in the process of implementation or have been launched in the Municipality of Paralimni, amount to more than 55 million euros.
Just as a reminder, I mention that important projects with a total cost of approximately 30 million euros have been completed.
In addition to the project we are launching, among other things, I note:
- The construction of the District Court of Famagusta, amounting to more than 9 million euros.
- The construction of the Famagusta Police Department in Paralimni, amounting to 6,5 million euros.
- The upgrading and expansion of school buildings and sports facilities, amounting to more than 5 million euros.
- The construction of a section of "1st April" avenue, amounting to more than 2 million euros.
At the same time, projects with a total cost of 13 million 390 thousand euros are under construction concerning:
- The construction of the road network and the cycle path in the "Kappari" area.
- The upgrade of the Paralimni High School.
In addition, I must note that other essential projects are being promoted that will benefit the citizens of Paralimni, as well as the neighboring areas, such as:
- The creation of Paralimni Marina and Ayia Napa Marina on state land.
- The improvement projects in the water network in the area of Kokkinokremmo, with a total cost of 21,5 million euros.
- The construction of the Achnas Wastewater Treatment Plant, amounting to 30,5 million euros.
- The enrichment of two artificial reefs in Paralimni and Ayia Napa.
It is also worth noting that in the municipalities and communities of the province of Famagusta, since 2015 when the state became able to spend on investments and infrastructure projects, they have been implemented or are being implemented with the decisive contribution of the Government, either through the allocation of national funds or through the promoting a series of projects for co-financing from European funds, 86 projects with a total cost of 213 million euros.
