A young man caused a great disturbance today when he placed towels on a sunbed on a beach in Protaras with the intention of keeping them and, when they were removed by a Municipality employee, in accordance with the instructions given to them and according to the Municipality's official policy announcement, he allegedly attacked and punched an employee and then fled.
As stated in a statement by the Municipality, the case was immediately reported to the Police and the alleged perpetrator was identified by members of the Police in collaboration with the Municipality's service. The alleged perpetrator is expected to be brought before the court by the Police.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia expresses its dismay over the serious incident under investigation of alleged assault and causing bodily harm.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia also warns that it will not tolerate under any circumstances incidents in which the physical integrity or dignity of its personnel is at risk and that in such cases every legal remedy will be exhausted so that justice is served.
