The coastal pedestrian road Paralimni - Protaras will reach the borders of Deryneia with the implementation of the 4th phase, having a total length of about 20 kilometers.

A written announcement of the Municipality states that "the project, which is urban planning, with the implementation of the 4th phase will reach its limit to Deryneia. Specifically, the 4th phase starts from the fishing shelter of Agios Nikolaos next to the Port and Naval Station of Paralimni and ends at the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Paralimni and the Municipality of Deryneia at the United Nations Coast Guard ".

It is added that "in the recent public presentation, the private designer described the characteristics of the project, its location and location, the characteristics of the natural environment of the study area, as well as analysis of all environmental parameters that may affect the construction and operation of the project in question ".

It is noted that "the project will be a continuation to the north of the 3rd phase of the overall configuration of the coastal zone of the Municipality of Paralimni and includes the design of a sidewalk with a total width of 8 meters and a bicycle path with a width of 2 meters. The project will also include small plateaus, living rooms, light canopies and urban equipment. It also includes tree planting with a selection of suitable species of flora ".

According to the researchers, "the completion time is estimated at 24 months from the date of commencement of work, taking into account that there will be no delays, due to various internal or external factors."

According to the announcement, "the project aims to strengthen the human relationship with the natural landscape, the sea and the relaxing view and strengthen the ecotourism and leisure infrastructure with ecosystems and biodiversity playing an important role for many types of tourism that contribute significantly economic benefits and is a vital source of income ".

The study also found that "cultural and eco-tourism can educate the world about the importance of biodiversity. "Walking, cycling, and outdoor sports are good forms of physical exercise and help people relax, while holiday tourism can well coexist and be fed back with ecotourism with multiple beneficial effects."

The configuration of recreation areas and mild sports in the coastal zone, the announcement continues, "is also addressed to the permanent residents or semi-permanent residents of the area who will be able to do it throughout the year. The researchers estimate that "the environmental impact of the construction phase and the operation of the new sidewalk will be negligible. In the study of environmental impact assessment, according to the results of analysis and evaluation of the environmental aspects of the project, it is stated that the effects that may occur during the construction phase, are estimated to be short-term and reversible.

It also states that "with the implementation of appropriate measures to prevent / minimize them can be significantly reduced or even eliminated, as estimated. Special attention during the organization and planning of the construction site and the construction works should be given to the areas where the protected species of the Red Book of the Flora of Cyprus are located ".

It is noted that these species "are the Coronilla repanda subsp. Repanda found in Glyki Nero Beach and Limonium aucheri and Euphorbia paralias found in Freedom Beach Islands. It is recommended that any measures taken for their protection be taken under the guidance of the Forest Department ".

It is noted that with the implementation of the project of the 4th phase, Paralimni will have a coastal sidewalk with a total length of about 20 kilometers.
