The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, within the framework of its strategic planning for the upgrading and promotion of the unique features of the Protaras Riviera, continues to implement interventions that enhance the image and experience of residents and visitors.

On the peninsula of "Xistaria" (or "Xistarkas" or "Sittarkas"), near the magnificent Fig Tree Bay beach of Protaras, where the visitor can see, from one of the first points on the continent, the sun rising from the Mediterranean, experiencing the unique experience of the first sunrise in Europe, a new elegant sign with a modern aesthetic was placed.

The new sign highlights the uniqueness and special identity of the place, while creating a new point of reference for visitors. The intervention was implemented with respect for the natural environment and contributes substantially to the aesthetic upgrade of one of the most distinctive destinations in Cyprus and Europe.

At the same time, modern benches have been placed, offering locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy the unique experience of sunrise in comfort, tranquility and safety, in a landscape of exceptional natural beauty.

From the very first day of their installation, many foreign visitors flocked from very early in the morning to capture the first sunrise in Europe from this specific spot.

This specific action is part of the continuous effort of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia to upgrade public spaces and strengthen the tourist identity of the area, highlighting the comparative advantages that make the Protaras Riviera one of the top destinations in the Mediterranean.
