The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia won first place nationwide in the Blue Flags for 2026, with 18 awarded beaches out of the total of 56 awarded throughout Cyprus.
This important distinction constitutes international recognition of the excellent quality of the area's bathing waters, the high level of infrastructure and services, as well as the systematic care paid to safety, cleanliness and environmental management.
This success is the result of a continuous, collective and organized effort, which is based on the cooperation of the Municipal Council, the Municipal Service and all those who work daily with consistency, professionalism and dedication to maintain and upgrade the beaches of the Municipality. At the same time, it reflects the continuous interventions, demands and documented suggestions of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia to the competent decision-making centers, with the aim of continuously improving the infrastructure and the services provided.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia expresses its warm thanks to CYMEPA and all the bodies involved for their long-standing cooperation and contribution to the international Blue Flag program, which is a global benchmark for quality and environmental responsibility.
This distinction fills the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia with satisfaction and further strengthens its responsibility towards its residents, visitors and future generations. The Municipality will continue with projects, actions and policies that substantially upgrade the place and strengthen its position as a leading seaside and tourist destination in Cyprus.
