Pyrillis: "I accept complaints because I do not give in to rusfeti" (video)

The Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, was invited today to the Sigma TV show "Mesimeri kai Kati".

The Mayor of Paralimni answered everything saw the light of day today through the newspaper "Phileleftheros" regarding allegations which are being investigated against him by the Auditor General of the Republic, Odysseas Michailidis.

Speaking on the show "Mesimeri kai Kati" and Katerina Christofidou, Theodoros Pyrillis revealed that he receives complaints from time to time which reach the Auditor General from various individuals because he does not give in to pressure.

He also mentioned that the Municipal Council operates unanimously and within the framework of legality, mainly regarding the projects that are done on the beaches.

He also noted that because he knew what the Auditor General was accusing him of, in yesterday's post on Social Media, published the assets of both himself and his wife.

Regarding the denunciation of the purchase and sale of a piece in an area which was carried out by the Municipality of Paralimni, he stated that all the transactions of the market were made before the municipal authority decided to do any work. He noted, however, that while referring to the Auditor General's letter that he had purchased a piece within the dead zone, he stated that he had not made any purchase of a piece within the dead zone.

Pyrillis: "I request an investigation from the Attorney General"

In response to the Auditor General, the Mayor of Paralimni stated that he had sent a letter to the Attorney General attaching all the evidence of the unfair competition for which he is accused and the projects on the beaches for which the Auditor General and the calls to investigate whether there is any suspicion or reasonable suspicion of any criminal offense to investigate and order the commencement of investigations.

He also mentioned that something similar happened in June 2016 when a front page headline of the same newspaper wrote that seven files were being opened in the Municipality of Paralimni. He then, in response, sent to the Auditor General power of attorney documents with which he can control his assets both in Cyprus and abroad until 2026.

In response to Katerina Christofidou, if he has been pressured for a bribe, he answered meaningfully that when there are people who own large areas of land that block access to the beach and the municipal authority tries to do projects to gain access to the public, then it is next, according to him, to have the corresponding reactions.
