The fire that broke out today Thursday 18/8 at 11:40 in an electrical workshop in Paralimni was extinguished.
In particular, information was received at the Paralimni police station and the fire service that there was a fire in a car electrical workshop on Protaras Avenue in Paralimni.
Members of the fire service went to the scene and with the use of three fire engines they extinguished the fire.
The fire completely destroyed the electrical laboratory with its contents, causing serious damage to the exterior paint of the building and minor damage to two apartments located on the 1st floor of the building complex where the laboratory was housed. At the time of the fire, the tenants of the apartments were absent, with the result that no one was injured.
8 cylinders of various dimensions and gases were moved from the laboratory to an open area for safety purposes.
The scene was cordoned off by members of the Paralimni police station from the first moment and patrons of an adjacent building were removed.
It is expected that the causes of the fire will be investigated in cooperation with the competent state officials.
The possibility of criminal activity has been ruled out.
