Sidewalk construction works are in progress in the area of Kapparis in Paralimni.
Specifically, from the beginning of last week, construction works and improvement of sidewalks on Giorki Papadopoulou Street had begun, which will continue throughout the road.
The works are being carried out on the initiative of the Municipality of Paralimni, which proceeded with the works voluntarily and with its own funds, since the urban planning work provided by the government for the specific area, as reported by the local authorities, seems to be delayed.
The local government considers the project of the utmost importance for the social development and that with its completion it will contribute to ensuring the continuous, safe and without obstacles of pedestrian traffic and to the proper management of the rainwater.
Our goal, said the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, is to ensure the safety of the residents of the area, to create uniform sidewalks and to improve the image of the city.
In the next two to three years, the total improvement of the area is expected to begin, as provided by the urban planning project, which includes, among others, asphalt paving, installation of rainwater pipes, construction of sidewalks, horizontal and vertical marking and reinforcement of road lighting.
