A crowd of people bid farewell this afternoon to the former Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61.
His funeral was held at public expense at the Metropolitan Church of Saint George of Paralimni.
The final "goodbye" to the deceased was said, among others, by the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the Parliament Annita Dimitriou, the Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeadis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis, members of parliament, and state officials.
At a meeting, the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Paralimni-Derynia declared a three-day mourning period during which all flags on municipal buildings will fly at half-mast. Theodoros Pyrillis served as Mayor of Paralimni from 2011 to July 2024.
