The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia hosts for the first time in the province of Famagusta the Official Mediterranean Open Sea Games (COMEN Cup) which are held together with the Pan-Cypriot Open Sea Marathon Games this weekend 5 and 6 October at Vrysi beach in Protaras.
The races are organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Swimming Federation and include mixed 5 km races as well as men's and women's 7,5 km races.
On Saturday, October 5, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nicolettos, attended the games, giving awards to the winners.
It should be noted that the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia has been awarded by the European Swimming Federation the candidacy for the organization of the European Games for 2024, which will take place next May in Protaras.
On Sunday, the Mediterranean Games continued with 7,5 and 5 km races as well as a relay race.
