On Sunday, September 23, the Famagusta Motorcycle Club organized a friendly motocross race, which was essentially the precursor for the start of the new racing year. The riders who competed had a first-class opportunity to count forces in anticipation of the new season, especially those who changed categories.
There may have been few entries, but once again the attendees enjoyed a lot of spectacle and battles on the track.
In the competitive part, the evergreen and multi-champion Savvas Savvas was the one who managed to win the MX1 category, foreshadowing us for what will follow in the championship. Important is the fact that Savva managed to win both hits, leaving last year's champion Christos Tsagaras second, who ranks second in both legs.
The first trio was completed by Marinos Zintilis, who from the MX3 that ran last year, changed category and from this year will compete in the MX1. A total of 7 riders ran in this category, an encouraging number, considering that last year the category started in several races with four riders.
Chrysanthos Georgiou was the absolute protagonist in the MX2 category. He had no problem winning both hits, in the absence of the opponent's awe, of course, which is none other than last year's champion Michalis Pampoukkas, who is serving his military service. Aristos Georgiou finished second with 2-2 finishes, while the newcomers in the category Dinos Theodorou climbed to third place in the podium, with finishes 3-3. Remember that Theodorou was last year's champion in the MX3 category.
In the MX3 category, only two riders ran, Evandros Kemeris and Neophytos Kanaris, with the latter being the winner.
The interest in the MX3 OVER category was quite large, where for the first time Spyros Ilias managed to win last year's champion Marino Tsaggaras even in a hit. The latter reacted immediately, winning the second and together the fight. Spyros Elias finally finished second in the match, with 1-3 finishes, and the first trio was completed by George Siderenios with 3-2 finishes.
In the MX4 category, Viktoras Zacharia showed his intentions for the upcoming racing season, as he was the big protagonist. He managed to win both hits, showing everyone that this year he will be one of the contenders for the championship. In the second place finished Loukas Tsokkos with finishes 2-4 and in the third Christos Kaikki, with finishes 3-2.
From now on, Christos Kimitris, champion last year in the MX85 category, will compete in this category. The youngster in his first participation managed to finish in fourth place overall.
Aristodimos Ellinas is the big favorite for this year's title in the MX85 category and he proved it out of the friendly match, as he easily won the two hits and at the same time the match. In second place was Vryonis Vlasiou with a 4-2 finish, while in third place was Antonis Georgiou.
Finally, in the MXVET category, George Savvas competed for the first time and became the winner. Gordon Melvin finished second and Nikos Koumi was third.
In the race, prizes were given to the first three riders of the general classification.
Chrysanthos Georgiou, who was first, won a Garminforerunner 235 sports watch with GPS, heart rate monitor, personal trainer steps and other € 279 offer from CA Petrides ltd Garmin Cyprus and € 100 cash offer from Gforce Strengthand Condition.

The Pancyprian Motocross Championship officially starts on the 21stη October with the first race being held at the Famagusta track. A total of nine races are included in the program, one of which will be held on the new track in Nikoklia on 16/12.
