The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, met with the Rector and Vice-Rectors of the University of West Attica in Athens these days.
The meeting took place within the framework of contacts that Mr. George Nikolettos has with Academic Institutions in Greece with the aim of creating branches of Greek Universities in the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.
As Mr. Nikolettos said, the meeting ended in a very positive atmosphere, and a tour of the Academic Institution's infrastructure was also held. He pointed out that the Municipality's goal is to attract branches of Greek Universities, which, as he said, will enrich the academic level of the region, attract more people to the region, while contributing to the improvement of the professional, social, cultural and economic level of the entire region. He also emphasized that the region is suitable for the creation of a university branch due to, among other things, the low cost of living, the proximity to Larnaca International Airport, the natural beauty of the area, the ease of travel, as well as the tourist and industrial infrastructure that can contribute to the specialization, employment and employment of students.
It is noted that the University of West Attica has a School of Public Health, School of Administrative, Economic and Social Sciences, School of Food Sciences, School of Health and Welfare Sciences, School of Applied Arts and Culture and School of Engineering. It also offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies as well as Foreign Language Study Programs and Lifelong Learning, Erasmus+ and Internship programs.
