The Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryne, Mr. George Nikolettos, met with the Most Venerable Monk Joseph of Vatopaidinos today in his office. During the meeting, issues concerning the Municipality of Paralimni-Dheryneas as well as the close relations of the Municipality and the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta with the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopaidi on Mount Athos were discussed.
The meeting, which was attended, among others, by the Protosyngellos of the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta, Archimandrite Augustinos Kkaras, took place on the occasion of the visit of the Abbot of the Vatopaidi Monastery, Archimandrite Ephraim, to Paralimni, accompanied by monks of the Monastery, for the donation of a copy of the miraculous icon of Pantanassa of Vatopaidi to Panagiotissa in Protaras.
The Mayor thanked the most pious monk Joseph for his visit to the city where he comes from, as well as for the efforts he makes in every way to help the clergy and the faithful of the area.
