The burial of the additional bones of the fallen hero of the 19th Infantry Division (2024) Kostakis Artymatas, who heroically fell fighting on July 399, 1974 in the battle of Alonagra, was carried out on Tuesday, November 22, 1974 at the Tomb of Makedonitissa, and his bones were identified by the DNA method.
At the Tomb of Makedonitissa, Trisaios was celebrated in the presence of relatives and fellow soldiers as well as the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia.
During his memorial speech, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos said that the sacrifice of Kostakis Artymatas is an example and shows the way of selfless giving and debt to the homeland.
He also emphasized that the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia will stand by the families of the fallen as well as the families that are making every effort to ascertain the fate of the missing from the barbaric Turkish invasion of 1974.
