On the morning of Tuesday, a Divine Liturgy was performed in the church that was built in Grammatiko, Attica, at the spot where the "Sun" plane crashed, resulting in the death of 121 people. Then the memorial service for the victims of the air tragedy was held and a trishagio was held at the top of the mountain.
About sixty relatives of the victims arrived in Greece from Cyprus for the Memorial. The annual memorial service was officiated by the Metropolitan of Kifissia, Maroussi and Oropos, Cyril, who stated that it is his moral and practical obligation to always be present at the annual memorial service.
The Republic of Cyprus was represented by the Ambassador of Cyprus to Greece, Kyriakos Kenevezos. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, the Speaker of Parliament, Dimitris Syllouris, the Democratic Alarm and AKEL.
