Authorities are investigating a case of sudden death after the death of a woman in a sea area in Protaras.
According to information, everything happened on Sunday morning, when a 59-year-old Greek Cypriot went early in the morning to swim in the sea area "Islands" in Protaras, when she was found by other bathers floating unconscious in the water.
An ambulance was immediately called and the 59-year-old was taken to the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctors on duty confirmed her death.
From an autopsy on the body of the woman, members of the Police found that she did not have external injuries, while according to information, the 59-year-old was facing health problems.
The exact causes of death of the woman will be ascertained with the legal autopsy on her body, which will be performed at a later stage.
