Three days detention for two minors for theft of mopeds in Paralimni

A three-day detention order was issued today by the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni against two young men, for investigated cases of moped theft that occurred between the dates 12-19 January 2019.

According to information from the Police, these are the same minors from Bulgaria aged 14 and 15 who were arrested in Paralimni on January 6th for another nine cases of theft of motorcycles and bicycles from mid-October to early January.

A two-day detention order was issued against them on January 7.

In the meantime, between the dates 12-19 / 01/2019, four other cases of moped theft were reported to the Paralimni Police Station.

Yesterday, Saturday, after information, members of the Paralimni Police Station located the two young people, who were in possession of two mopeds.

At the sight of the members of the Police, the two young men fled in unknown directions, leaving the mopeds on the scene.

These mopeds were transported to the Station, where they were recognized by their owners. Shortly afterwards, one of the young men arrived at the Police Station, where, during interrogation, in the presence of his guardian, he admitted to committing a total of 7 cases of moped theft.

Court warrants were issued against the two young men and they were arrested to facilitate the investigations.

The Paralimni Police Station continues the examinations.
