The Famagusta Carnival is coming this year tougher, upgraded and clearly better! The Carnival that was loved and embraced by all of you is now an institution and has entered for good on the map of the top cultural events of our country. With his own unique identity, his own logo and now his own Hymn edited by the music conservatory Music S Cool came to stay.
This year the Carnival King is represented by the Municipality of Paralimni and is honored to pay tribute to our beautiful liaison Maria Kalimera who won the Guinness record in 2015, 2017 and with inexhaustible strength of soul, with the theme "Queen of Guinness".
Maria Kalimera, is a person with a strong and very pleasant personality, with a characteristic smile and has promoted Paralimni internationally, delivering life lessons to all of us. The time has come for her hometown to welcome her with brilliance and liveliness, in carnival rhythms, dancing samba with her and not only! The Metropolis-Agios Georgios square will be shaken by the applause of the spectators and the other carnivalgoers.
The Carnival this year, which is being organized for the 13th year, will have a huge impact in the province of Famagusta and in the wider territory, with the participation of more than 30 groups in the provincial parade while the spectators, locals and foreigners are expected to exceed 40.000. All this will compose an impressive scenic spectacle which, together with the rich artistic program, will satisfy every visitor.
The preparations are now on the final track and a huge wave of excitement has overwhelmed young and old! We start with the arrival of the Queen of our hearts, on Swan Thursday, February 20 at 7.30 pm, we continue with the Evening Foot Parade on Saturday, February 29 at 8 pm. and "we hit red" on Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m. with the District Parade along Protaras Avenue! We leave behind the sadness, the scourges and the routine and… DOSTOU DOSTOU - DOSTOU CARNIVAL FAMAGUSTA!
