Through an entertaining story starring St. George (referred to as “Yorkuin”) and the Dragon, children are given the opportunity to come into contact specifically with the tsiattista as a characteristic type of singing in Cypriot traditional music. Through experiential and playful activities that contribute to the development of the story, children learn the main characteristics of a tsiattista, both from a musical and linguistic point of view.
The workshop lasts approximately 80 minutes. During this time, we also briefly introduce the children to some traditional instruments from Cyprus and Greece, while there are also short breaks where we play music for the children, mainly for entertainment and relaxation purposes.
No music knowledge is required.
Each child must be accompanied by at least one adult.
