Half a hectare of dry grass, reed beds and low wild vegetation was burned by a fire that broke out yesterday at noon on the Paralimni - Sotiras road.
A statement from the Fire Service states that "at 15:42 on Monday, June 30, the Famagusta Fire Station "Sergeant Adamou Adamou" responded with three vehicles to a call for a fire on the Paralimni - Sotiras road in the Limni Paralimni area."
The Fire Department was supported by a fire truck from the Forestry Department and the fire burned half a hectare of dry grass, reeds and low, wild vegetation.
The fire was brought under control at 16:34 while firefighter forces managed to contain the fire and protect adjacent residences.
