The Minister of Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou, paid a visit to the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia today. During the visit that took place at the Municipal Building, the Minister of Interior had the opportunity to be informed by the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Paralimni, Derynia, Frenaros and Acheritos on issues that affect the Municipality and fall within the competences of the Ministry of Interior.
In his statements, the Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, welcoming the Minister of Interior to the Municipality, referred to the agenda of the meeting, noting that the Municipality is concerned with issues of development of the region and especially the tourist area of the hinterland, but also issues concerning the well-being of the citizens. "The challenges of the reform are very many. We are working day and night with hard work, but we want the support of the central State, so that all these visions and studies that we have done can come to fruition," Mr. Nikolettos concluded.
For his part, Mr. Ioannou stated that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the issues that concern the Municipality, emphasizing that through the regular contacts he has with the Local Government bodies of the Famagusta District, it is established in every case that "there is a good cooperation between the Mayors and Deputy Mayors and this is for the benefit of the local community."
A memorandum was submitted to the Minister of Interior with the requests of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.
