The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos, and the General Manager of EAC, Mr. Adonis Jasemidis, have signed on Thursday, October 17, 2024, an Agreement for the replacement of the energy-consuming street lighting of Paralimni with "smart lights" of LED technology. The project is expected to start immediately, significantly improving and upgrading Street Lighting services in the Municipal District of Paralimni, saving significant percentages of primary energy and contributing to the development of "smart city" infrastructure.
At the same time, an Agreement was signed for the installation of eleven electric vehicle chargers, seven in Paralimni, two in Deryneia, one in Frenaros and one in Acheritou.
The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia expressed his satisfaction at the signing of the agreement, stressing that with the replacement of the street lighting there will be significant savings in the finances of the Municipality, while with the installation of electric vehicle chargers, citizens and visitors will be given the opportunity to charge the their electric or Plug-in Hybrid vehicles as well as a corresponding incentive to switch to non-polluting vehicles. With actions like these, the Mayor of Paralimni pointed out, the Municipality contributes to the development of infrastructure to become a "Smart City".
