The Fire Service, the Police and the crews of the Municipalities of Paralimni and Ayia Napa are running and not arriving to extricate vehicles from flooded streets and pump water from properties. Specifically in the province of Famagusta, since 04:40, calls for help are continuously received due to severe weather conditions in the Paralimni and Protaras area. The incidents involve flooded roads, opening of storm water drains, pumping water from flooded properties and vehicle towing. Members of the Fire Department are working with equipped crews and personnel have had to be recalled.

At the same time, the Police in its announcement warns the public that in the province of Famagusta, due to water accumulation, several roads have become dangerous, especially on Kappari, Protaras, 1st of April and Griva Digeni Avenues and on the roads of Agia Napa - Agia Thekla and Protara - Kavo Greko.

Roads closed in the province of Famagusta due to water accumulation:

  • Protaras – Cabo Greco Avenue (from Mr. Kapparis to the entrance of Protaras in the Pernera area)
  • Road from Mr. St. Panteleimon until Kamitsi lights.

Dangerous roads:

  • Kappari Avenue,
  • 1st of April Avenue
  • Griva Digeni Avenue
  • Agia Napa - Agia Thekla road
  • Road Protara – Cabo Greco – Ayia Napa
